New Directions'
Shawnee Renaissance Apartments Portfolio consists of
177 Subsidized Housing Units within the Louisville Area.
These units vary from One to Three bedrooms and rental rates are based on tenants' household income.
These properties are required to restrict occupancy to applicants who earn 60% or below the median income for the area, each year.
Meaning, applicant households that include a single occupant (1 person) must not earn more than: $40,500 during the 2024 year.
A household of two (2 people) must not earn more than $46,320, total combined, during the year 2024.
A household of three (3 people) must not earn more than $52,080, total combined, during the year 2024. And so on.
There are additional requirements and restrictions to qualify for this housing portfolio.
As with all New Directions housing units, applicants and all occupants must provide:
Valid Photo Identification, Social Security Card, Proof of Income from employment or benefits and potentially additional verification documents.
What will happen next? A housing Pre application must be completed, all information given, confirmed and appropriate documentation submitted.
A background screening will be completed at no cost to the applicant.
Once reviewed and eligibility is confirmed, you will be put on a wait and the certification process will begin shortly thereafter.
Important : Applicants in certain circumstances may be given priority and moved up the waiting list as required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Unfortunately, due to the shortage in low income housing availability, the wait list may extend to a year+.
These are not last minute move ins.
Due to the Federal funding source, there is extensive documentation that must be completed. However, having rent 'income based' is worth the wait.
Everyone deserves to be secure in their housing situation. It is the foundation to build a healthy and productive life for yourself or you and your family.
